Catharacta maccormicki Males 1960 Dec 7 4 feet from nest. 337 bird trying to oust incubating bird has been stand by nest for 5 minutes at least calling. 3:15. Incubating bird at 337 finally stands up & walks away, Annemarie to passing bird then flies. Other bird who gave up trying to get off the egg & has been sitting 3 feet away, walks over & sits. Mate 205 gets up & flies off at same time. 3:30 205 effect a change of incubation duty about 3-4 minutes after the above entry - the banded bird has just returned his bathing in a puddle near the nest. 4:07 Brown Pied came previous at 3:55 or so. Everything upset. At 3:50 incubating 230 had gotten up & a few moments later had flown. Mate was about to sit, in fact made several starts when Brown scared them off (2-17-6) In return it mate returned from a bath, preened & sat on eggs. 4:12 Five penguins came by 337. Bird remained on nest. They didn't molest it. 4:25. L. Red just flew by from Spa. Flora came + landed at nest. 4:30 R.O.Y returns from Spa to 206, Lando
