Mala 1966 Catharacta maccormicki Dec 6 bored but untractable, one is lying down, other stand hunched up; but they will not at close come in. 11:35 4 penguins now lying down though one stood up when shua made another approach. There are now 10 penguins, the sleeping one has rejoined the group & one other I must have missed earlier, 11:50 Nest relief at 2:05 - 16mm picture of it. Now 19 penguins at that nest. They are moving out & heading this way. Earlier, about 10:50 I recorded a shot pa nest relief at 2:06. 11:52 Lena finally sat back on nest, penguin all left; now by nest 12, bird has stayed on nest however. 11:55 Penguin finally moved off over williet one after standing about nest 12 for a couple of minutes. They took off abruptly & join a hurry as usual with them. The status quo is same at my 3 pairs except that the Banded 42 has departed. I did not see Peter at 9:00. (12:15) R D.Y (a R-Y) relieved at 2:05 above is on shore of Spa 12:28 P.Cop. in "island" of land in S. snow patch? New pair?? 12:35 Banded 42 returned, landed 30
