Catharacta maccormicki. Male 1960 Pec 5 clearly. & jabbed bill at male a few times, leaning slightly as she did so. Male kept place and contact was made once. Femind standing through it. Male off at end, female might have done it. He went into momentary challenge but she remained in horizontal position flattened, and remained again. She gave "gratification" call when contact was made. 12:21 Banded 42 lands 20 feet from nest stands up, gives i.e.e cell a few times. Unbanded responds, got off nest, spread wings walked to banded holding wings up, neck forward and body & neck feathers raised. At food which banded had regurgitated without my seeing and returned to the nest. Banded picks up the crumbs and sits down. 12:45 Member of pr. 31 who has been sitting alone all morning stood up, picked up a pebble, then stood a while and finally ate several more. 1:00 PIT left denning. Situation undated, except that 230 mates gone. R. 204 sleep on nest. Sun in out.
