Catheracta maccormicki: I noticed one bird give an aerial "V" announcement. It descended as it did so + then fluttered to a landing. This followed a brief chase. Other bird did not land but flew on. Nov. 29 Observed a penguin near nest 339. Standing next to the incubating bird + peering at it. He was also tentatively policing his bill at it in a fashion somewhat hesitant + curious rather then hostile. This continued for some minutes, the shua getting more + more angry + taking several pokes at the penguin. Finally the shua left the nest + fluttered at the penguin which went away. The shua returned to the nest. Two nests on foot of a mound with a colony of penguin entrant. At 7 PM when I arrived to make rounds I found that the fresh pond in the shurry had been constituted. The area was completely dry yesterday. 28 shuao were bathing + standing in it. At shurry across bay. Brian counted 9 nesting pairs present there, 5 w/ 2 eggs, 2 w/ 1 egg + 2 w/ 0 egg. We collected 3 birds + 2 clutch of 2 eggs. The shurry
