Catharacta maccormicki. 38 Make, 1960 Nov.19 in the manner before Walked through pungumy locating nesting shuas. Saw shua land near edge of small penguin clan. One ran Towards him chasing, the shua retreated on just as far as chased didn't fly. Shuas regard pungumy as common hunting ground. No hostility to other birds hunting. Witnessed left Red hunting one colony 200yds from his nest. Other shuas hunting about area went unnoticed. This is in context again by jaeger which when nesting display to other jaegers even away from territory. This of course not true in regard to food steal. Hobbing is seen frequently in evidence when one bird gets a hold of a bit of food + fighting + for assertion of dominance is frequent at larger food stores or source. Nov20. Contour feathers in nest 35,1 egg Contour feathers 1 egg nest nest. Noticed down bits & I believe cont- our feathers in other nests earlier, but made no note. Do in future Bathing 27 Shuas about their ponds, sea ice in front of Bonge ice fall. Nov22. Same shua lay an egg while
