Make 1960 Catharacta maccormicki Nov.13 4:50 Lft Yw - On walks past Pt Y-O 35 feet to position N. of me 30 feet, near small snow path - give occasional chink call, makes as if to choke then sits down 5:10 Pt Y-O - flies 20 feet & lands 20 feet from Lft. Walks slowly towards Lft. takes time, swander, poles to feel at ground, picks up bits of feather etc (7 shell) at 7 feet Lft gives one little call &h. Lft sits 18" from Lft [Fr 230] 5:25 Lft Y-O returns lands on Cone side of #15 mound 5:27 Saw a food tug on snow slope. Heard the begging call then noticed the tug - both with wings raised as they pulled, the food broke & both at once at their part (assuming both got a part). 5:35 left slowly. Unmarked shear sitting N. of me 20 feet during most of watch left once & returned a short time later w. a penguin egg. Dropped Landed on snow patch, put egg down & bit at it 2x in his beak before brushing through. Then ate contents & sat down near me again. Nov.14 Arrived slowly 1:40 P.M. Bird approached Bird 5 (or more) were seen to fly in and
