Catharsita macccormicki Nov.8 One aspect of & during cop. I hadnt & practice in copulation m the body by barely raising wing carpet a hair. Later, Sals noticed that the begging bird has this flattened appearance when begging. I begin to think that the dumping of bill down in context with lower neck & breast has a signal function. Bird looks, like: when it doesn't. Have seen birds do this sitting when stronger flee one. Sometimes then stands & starts challenge with head like this than raising head in challenge call- Check all this One last display. A bird landed on ice 10 feet from edge of slurry. One once went in to regurgitation pose & second bird then went into begging pose. Both stopped & challenged a bird overhead (Leaping, bird first) & resumed. Nov.9 On the terminal moraine of the glacier across the bay there were 5 to 6 pcs of shrews located. These do apparently a well defined slurry hole so we found nests & even one dead adult bird. The area occupied covers perhaps 2 acres. The birds here must feed very heavily on whitem pelt
