Catharacta maccormicki: Nov. 4 of Bannen, the way they hold their head + its contour + the way its wing are used + held. This may be ritualized flight → I must note more of this in the future. Once heard a sharp shock wave from one albatross pulling out of a fast dive. Two were flying then. Typically when doing this the 2 birds will fly about staying fairly close, occasionally one or the other will drop to within 20-3 feet of the other, from a position above but these are not "perch" or the feet are not dropped. This is also the way Pomarine Skuas, checks were playing about together, they fall at Bannen. Nov. 7 Hellitt. Arrived at Searay 10:15. Took up position in same place used last time, a prominent mound towards alluvial fan. Observed a bird flying together, made a curve over slope, wings horizontal, over slowly then flew out across cone & penguin + did 2 more dives together then repeated. One flew back + landed on slope above me. Prot edge + S- (#1) one bird in choke call é or in hoarse + made light in the throat. stood with breast + head down tail + flankquaters elevated then sat down. repeated 3 times, mate walked about
