Male 1960 Cattarausta macormicki. Nov. 4 11:55 a few minutes later when a strange bird flew over only the occupant gone [illegible] challenge display. Second bird simply flew & called. 12:40 P.M. one bird in close - cholo call (a die said) like dog whining, short little syllable > > > blees. Anyway 5th bird came over stood right adjacent & gave full challenge. No other bird in sight then there were 2 birds challenging from hillside, 50 yds away. And A choloed & pointed this posture very bumbled at head down. Bird B stood gave full challenge call without wing lifted. One partial challenge call a couple of other times. Bud & not. Bud Beat. While watching penguins arriving now, cape noted 2 skuas flying around together, just circling about, gliding and flapping. Later noted about to flying & circling over Willet Cove - strong breeze was then blowing. Have not made a note up to this time of the flying behaviour it is difficult to report: guest flying from what may be territorial defence chase & what may function in courtship. A time the flying birds remind me, very much
