Catharacta maccormickii. Nov.3. display after landing. Set. A second bird come in a while later- challenged by a couple of pairs lands 15 feet from above, give challenge display after landing. Earlier saw a pair land, one before the other, both in challenge as soon as they landed. Was that to each other or the shawny in general. One thing, challenge is given in head down & head up; in head up position the body is tilted back in facsimile of strut of pomarine 2:20 An observation which confirms above. Bird landed near another, both in Challenge display. I noted that tail [illegible] was elevated slightly as in strut (stubby Tailed these) & head back. One then folded wings & was in perfect strut posture, held that. Both also slowly circled each other one raised wings again & then folded staying in strut. One they got challenged by Rock piper nearby pair when they got too close - responded in land. One of pair lunged at other & moved off but stayed 2:30 One bird in choke. Pair near S. tip of shawny. One bird in low choke call (seconds!) & in posture head down bill open tail end up
