Maha 1960 Catharacta maccormickii 4 Nov 1 (cont.) 11:50 Wild chare 2 birds flew from cliff-circled twice, amicably, one then landed near another bird on cliff. Other left, I didn't follow it. About 1 minute later bird who had been on cliff—drowned one of pair—flew 3 feet to rock & clashed. Tuck up, beat down—uttered a choke call diff from announcement call. Other— lighter—bird flew off. Three pairs, including above show— dimorphism in color—One is smooth coffee w/ cream (darkish) brown—other yellowish—splotchy—in aspect. [illegible] 11:55 Brown snow 30yd away. Picking at something on ground. Separated one set ate snow—poking bill into snow—to get mouthful. One approached other in a begging pose, neck sleeked, arched, mouth closed, soon discontinued no other gave no sign. Separated. 12:55 2 standing together. One walked 3 feet then into food begging choke arched appearance in back of neck. Other approached + went into same pose for few seconds then stopped. First stopped. They separated & left. 12:20 Left.
