Nov. 6 Hallett Station.
One of the Hawaiian keep reported seeing
a Wilsons petrel last night flying in
camp. He described it well, 'small, dark,
erratic flight pattern.
Nov. 21 On visit to cliffs across the bay
saw no live wilson petrel but found
the carcasses of 2. One a fully fledged
young bird was found with its head
sticking from a small burrow the
mouth of which was no more than 3x3
inches. Don Daughles found a downy
young among the rocks at another point.
Both of these were high up on the
petrel cliffs near the top in fact +
among the snow petrels.
Nov. 29 Saw one bird at the petrel cliffs today
Flying about one section of the cliffs
4-5 hundred feet up from the bay. It
was quite attached to one small
segment of the cliff face.
Also saw a fresh tuft of one days
nest in the shrubbery. Duing reported
finding fresh pellets with Wilson remains
in them.
Dec 1 Several seen late in evening flying singly-low-
heading toward open water; 1c ME.
Dec 4 One flew over roohey, low, heading out to sea
