Maker 1960 Aptenodytes forsteri Oct.31 Notes from Robert Thompson, Hallett station chief. Oct 10.- Emperor penguin captured near spit. Oct 13- Emperor banded. #66405 Oct 25- 61 Emperors penguins counted near spit Oct 26- Over 30 Emperors near spit (end R. Thompson note) Oct.30 Total of 32 passed station today. Ten were in a group at 11M and drove up to station. Two seen late afternoon out by pressure ridge. Four in group stralling past station at 9.30PM + 16 more in group at a distance at the same time. Oct.31 Three Emperors walking along the sea side of the adèle rasberg were caught & corralled in the evening. Later the beeps saw some more & went out to band some. Two more were cooked - a total of 5. A total of 24 were seen later in the evening of which Don D + [illegible] Bryan banded 17. Nov.3. None seen since the above. Nov.9 7 Emperors showed up today. They were standing in a tight group at 9.30AM
