Maker 1961 Journal penguins to no avail though it was so warm in the sun when I was out of the wind that I had a nice nap instead. Copied my slurry maps in afternoon Feb 14 Cape Hallett, Antarctica. Continued measuring meter next distance in the slurry with the help of Joe Descent. Spent the morning working in Bruno North part of the slurry + got most of it done. Afternoon was spent mostly talking but I did check the pots on the side + weigh my two remaining chicks. The week end was a lost one. Saturday night was a party for Bernie Pope a Seabee who is leaving on the amel for McMurdo Sound. Sunday the place was pretty living over but everyone managed to make it up by 2 PM for the N+D* softball game between Civilian + Navy. The cook broke his arm in the first inning - by a fall while running the bases - but this barely slowed the game. Five innings were played, score was Navy 79, Civilian 19. N+D = Note + Direction
