Maley 1961 Journal Dog of penguin remains + fanned up a few pellets after lunch. Spent about 4 hours watching at nests 308+331. Jan 10 Cape Hallett, Antarctica: My hand continues to improve though not fast enough. I have been lucky though in that the ship has been delayed + will not now show up until the 12 of Jan.--Thurs. Meanwhile the swelling in the hand has gone down noticeably + most of the pain is gone from it. I make a complete round, weighing all chicks before noon + a complete nest round after noon. I watched at nest 204 for a while afternoon just the birds seem spookier now than when mendating Jan 11 Cape Hallett, Antarctica The only accomplishment of the day was a four hour watch in the snow from 1 to 5PM. In late evening, also, I visited several nests in the snow + on this site also. Jan 14 Cape Hallett, Antarctica. The Eastwind, USCG icebreaker arrived near Hallett on Jan 12. Their helicopter landed at 7:15 PM. + Derby gave Tom Ballard who had the closest time in the pond
