JOURNAL At any rate be put the (wrist) into a splint. A wonderful development. I spent the afternoon watching nests 331 & 308 & again after the show I watched the same nest from 9:40 to 11:10. The day was warm, calm & sunny. A Weddell seal was seen on the beach near camp this morning. Jan 3 Cape Hallett, Antarctica.. Make a complete round during the day. In morning after taking care of Modoc & Stretchen I weighed the chicks on this side & after lunch weighed those in the shaney & made a complete round. Wrote notes in evening. Also finally straightened out food notes of G & M. These were confused by the fact that Don fed the bird for several days. I have now taken that one for the extent of keeping records - weighing everything & leaving just cutting & skin. My hand has taken a turn for the worse. At the advice of Doc Hallett & Bailey I exercised the fingers during the day. The result has been that the hand swelled & began throbbing badly all evening & night. Jan 4 Cape Hallett, Antarctica New complications on the hand. - LT
