It lasted from 8 to 11:38 or so when a movie was proposed + all adjourned to the movie hall. Dec 25 Cape Hallett, Antarctica: The wind increased in force during the night + blew with gale force most of the day. The sky was clear however- we had the first sun in days. All of us slept in late. I didn't get up until noon or so + I brought some coffee in. To the others an hour later + they were still in the sack. The rest of the camp was as sluggish. I saw few of them until supper time. Dec 26 Cape Hallett, Antarctica I made a round of the shirey in the morning + of the penguin colony nests in the afternoon. In the meantime I had also shown my left hand to Colin Bailey. This was swollen on the outside + in the pinky + had been for some days. It was increasingly painful to move + had begun disturbing
