Male 1968 Journal Also penned one more to nest; the nearest shua next, no. 323. This is a one chick nest but in situated close among the penguins & I thought it would be an interesting & handy one to follow. Cut up one shua chick + a penguin chick in evening. Dec 20 Cape Hallett, Antarctica. Made a round of the shuany after lunch + weighed all of my penned chicks in the process. In evening finished up skeletonizing a penguin adult begun weeks ago + skeletonized another which has been sitting out front since a box for about as long. The shua cage was moved into position by our front door with the aid of Pat Lee & George Allen + a fork cift. Modoc & Gathlin were put in the cage for a while and seemed not to mind the outdoor temperature. In a few more days I hope I can leave them out there Dec 21 Cape Hallett, Antarctica. Round of shuany after lunch, then wrote up note in evening. Spent some time measuring feet & flippers of chick remains found at nests. With this I hope to be able to give an average weight for chicks of different foot & flipper sizes. In checking in Sladen I found that he did not
