Mably (1960) Journal Dec 17 Cape Hallett, Antarctica (Saturday) I made a round of the stency in the morning + spent the afternoon + part of the evening working on the skua cages writing notes. Dec 18 Cape Hallett, Antarctica (Sunday) Slept in late this morning + did not get up until 10:30 A.M. The day was overcast + breezy. Snow fell intermittently in large puffy flakes. The wind from the S. suggested an arriving storm but the day wore on + it did not materialize. I had intended to read during the day but instead worked on the skua cage + finally finished it up. The 2 chicks (Modoc + Gretchin) are eating up both a lot of time + a lot of food. I made a trip over #307+308 + weighed the chicks in the late afternoon. Dec.19 Cape Hallett, Antarctica (Monday) All of us got up late today. Don showed a movie from midnight to 2AM-"West of Zanzibar"-not too bad. Anyway we were all up quite late to see it. Made a round of the stency in afternoon weighing the penned chicks that were out + some of the newly hatched unpenned ones
