At the dance at Bogot Farm Village they had been a drunken row, and one of the other guests had fallen on this man and actually bitten him to and fro into revoltion! The wounded man was gone into Kingstown in St Vincent for medical attendance, and his friend had boarded us to get Aubyn to issue a warrant for the arrest of the party who had bitten his whole-hom friend. St. Aubyn calls up the police, I had his officer do it out while I examined the man (see whether any artery was bleeding.) I had no means of dressing the wound correctly. The scene was a very curious one. On the light of two dim lamps, the way-fate in pyjama sleeping suit advancement the oath to the man with the bandaged face, and around in all positions on the little deck and against the raffing we standing or reclining, the two fishermen, the sailors on boat and the slop. The vents were rising and falling on the house, and beyond the gleaming of light was nothing but storm and darkness. The whole scene was wild in the extreme and I shall never forget it.
