St Vincent. 68- 23 May, 1891. are both very tall, and the young fellows say they are made for each other. we walked back, and several of the ladies accompanied us. Reeve invited me to go with several fellows tomorrow on a walking party at the villa and I cannot go. 24 May, 1891 Sunday. Our party consists of Reeve, Delaporte, Herbert Smith, Richard Laburthe, Herbert and my young engineer. We first walked towards the south end of the town of Kingston which is shut in by a high and inaccessible cliff running down to the sea, and we've turned towards the East and mounted the hill until we reached the top-about 30 ft high. The road up, though steep is good, and all along it are built houses, the upper one looking on the lake. At the top of Lion Hill, as it is called, are several quite residences belonging to the gentry of the place. One house especially belonging to Vice Adm. H-A. Hazzell is a very fine one. We now walked along the level top of the hill and gradually descended along a winding road to Great Head Estate or walked across a fine wide valley, closed at each end by a ridge and proceeded along a flat road with numerous cabbage palm trees planted by its side in rows. These trees were much finer before the hurricane (which destroyed a good many) several years ago. We then ascended another ridge and crossing it returned towards the sea, and passing through the villa Estate we reached a small & The Warrawares.
