Tobago. May Wednesday, 1891. Learn today for Grenada via Trinidad. Get up early to pack, an awful job after having stayed five weeks in Aspley and got everything lying about in all directions. When half way through I am cursing myself with perspiration, and then a happy thought comes across me. Why not get into a pyjama sleeping suit! Do it, and then packing is easier. Call in servants to help after my back feels 2 parts broken. And then I replenish my pipe and sit down in my deck chair and look on comfortably while I sweat at it. At last the thing is done, thank goodness. And get my last breakfast in Tobago. Afterwards go to bid good-by to Mr. Elliott, the Commissioner, and the Tulloch's. The Tulloch's with whom I have been on most friendly terms are very sorry I am going. Mrs. kisses her hand to me as I leave the table, and hurrys back a little watering. She is a warm-hearted fresh woman, her maiden name being - Culh but, being poor Loren. Off to the steamer about 2 p.m. In the 'Ek', and Captain Porter and the other officers, give me hearty welcome. Later on three shoals of people come aboard to bid me good-bye - black white coloured. I have become popular in Tobago.
