We had to allow McDonald to lie until noon in the wagon house until his stomach recovered, and then we rode out to Walliboo village, then two men came with the lunchbox basket, and so McDonalds ducked if whiskey which somewhat allayed it. Afterward Donald made up for lost time we continued, and Roy fairly beat the other horses. I seem surprised he said he had hundred miles I could ride, and he found that I have better feet than his. I laughed and told him that I had lived on horse from years. We sometimes into the interior, and began rapidly to ascend along a mountain road which was in fair condition, only that it was steep in places. I am surprised to see that the large trees were almost all up in bunches in place. Andira microceras but as we got higher other trees many of them unknown to me began to appear. The ferns Cyathea fern and Blephila nuttong were seen sparingly, noticed too, the current Cleistocarpus lygodium, Psilotum triquetratum having from some of the wetlands. Heliconia hiernis occurred in clumps and is very easily distinguishable from the Dominitica heliconias. The other plants I noticed were lute and shrub melastomads. Japna. Schreiners.
