everywhere clothed by green
grass or low bushes, Hong
Kong island from the
seaside presents a picture
of utter lack of human
habitation, not a house or
building or cleared space of
ground being in evidence
on the south side. This
only when the steamer
has rounded the west end
that the city clustering
to the steep hillside
is visible + opposite it
Hong Kong with its
marves & large building
of several stories.
The D.Treets docked at Kaulon
alongside 2 large steath
steamers with their many
flags & port painted in
great letters on their sides
