"From the police station I went to the Secretarial to have visa for Singapore added. The officers were quick here but the service bad. My charges were 2 Rs. I having no change I handed in a 10 R. note & delay was sent out for change but delayed 15 minutes & than left without the change leaving it for my return next day. There was many officer in the building were changes available in 2 minute's ago. The passport clerks said only a few permits to leave Calcutta are issue daily now & these chiefly to foreigners. No able bodied men under 50 may leave
