Dharis manager Smith who
asked us to stop with him
on the Rajah's estate. The Rajah,
is immensely wealthy being
owner of the coal fields of the
district which he rents to
British companies for a percent
of the output.
The Rajah has
sprung from the lowest caste
the sweepers but now lives
in a castle fitted with electric
& modern conveniences. He
also had a herd of elephants &
camels for display purposes.
From anywhere in the district
the sacred nuth. of Paramath
4,000 feet altitude can be seen
some 20 miles distance. It is
a shrine of many temples &
the slopes are covered by a
primval sacred forest. On the
summit are many temples &
dele brungalam. The nuth has
the shape & size of Kongo Salunkh.
