seen in the circle. The distance is so great & there are so many peaks that the mountain does not impress you with its vast altitude. Mt Everest is a difficult peak to get a view of from as it lies far away + only its extreme tip shows on the horizon so there is nothing in the least impressive about the view. This is the view from Tiger Hill 6 miles south of Darjeeling a much better view can be obtained after at Sandakpur -> a 3 days hard ride north west of Darjeeling + at an altitude of about 1200 feet (1193 ft.) There is a bungalow here but this so far only few people make the trip.
