Solos &c. 19 At daylight when we crossed a light rain was falling but after intervals thereafter no more got passed I started on our way at 10 Am in lovely sultry weather. Again had been obtained who both us down the valley to a place in the Burma border at the village of Man-Loah. There may lead over level rice fields for about 10 miles & then thru the valley closed in & the river ran to a dead jungle choked river. The lower part of the valley was sheltered by tall trees & so much of its strong heat like a warm green grass.
