We reached Shikher at 3 P.M., & made camp in a temple at one end of the town. The place is small with- out any wall or fortification. A post office & magistrate are located here. The town is situated at the extreme lower end of the valley, by high hills on either side & a metre deep V shaped valley of this part of the plain. During the afternoon saw 2 flocks of the common goose in ponds but they were too many for our powers.
