Teng-yueh District
The exposed rock surfaces
are not numerous most of
the hills & ranges are soil
covered & grass clad.
Soil when exposed on hills &
plains bright red clay except
on paddy field when it is
white gray slate lumps here
Granite underlies most of the
region & is exposed on some beds.
Southwardly there is great
lawn sheet with rough scarred
surface covering a great area.
There is lava running much of
the country from Kwi Yao
northwards. Limestone was
seen extensively at Kwi Yao
& at Wa-tien in Salmeeen
Range & at many places near Tansgel.
