Under side of the tail was covered by a large brown gland and to its top as in the & we thought at muching, neither fore or hind hoofs contained a gland but the lochypal gland was very deep & large. This I have just seen with another animal somewhat smaller. The horns were fully developed & hard of rather large size 27 1/2 inches long by 2 3 spread. This must be the rut rather than fawning season or else deer carry hard horns most of the year round. The stomach contents was chiefly leaves of larch trees. The body was lean excepta little for on the briskets. The chines were rancous for the blood in the chest cavity. This they drank especially the large clefted masses. Every vessel even packs were filled with blood to be sold for medicine.
