At dark Grierson arrived from Towagque to spend the week end with us shorty apart. He brought with him his pointer dog + two pieces 27 Grierson went shooting with A down on the East side of the river while I kept to the west side on the rim of the cliff. They shot a quail which I chased down by shooting but unfortunately hit it in the head + blew off the top of the bird after shooting it threw the body fatally but failing to drop it dead. A large group of red macawne number was seen on the boulders lining the shore + A bagged three a 1/2 + half grain. In the afternoon we went to the same country + I bagged another quail, 2 g with feathers but A & Grierson got no shots but they parked up near
