Browsing 28 Our camp at Sung Suiy was on a fine grassy meadow west of town and in the morning on route lay thru the town which is string along this one long road. It is a typical filthy Chinese town with Shang or other tribes being purely Chinese. The Sung-Hing valley is small & irregular & stream crossed it & asended the bare hills. The route was a paved road leading to Yung Chang. South of the road on at the spurs I could see 2 miles away a temple pidwerly perched on a sharp conical peak whikers well forested the trees hiding the lower tails of the buildings. The roadsides about Sung-Hing an lined by rose hedges, which are now bearing single yellow flowers sweet scent. This is perhaps the rambler rose of Wilson Chinese flora. The pear trees are now in white with blossoms & the few peach trees also pink with flowers. A few South Primroses & a carnation roseaceous flowered shrub red bearing
