Mammals & chewing being Between Febry. 1 - Macacus, Several herds seen on the river margin in trees sent, The individuals mixed ages & sexes, from 12 to 20 individuals. They + difficult to stalk within shot-gun range. 2 - Brown Bat. (Vespertilio) Several shot at dusk near camp in open country. 3 Vespers brown Bat. Like dark in size but teeth smaller, One shot. 4 Cervulus - Several heard barking at night + in the morning near camp. A few marks seen on the marshy river beach. Young fawns seen in grassy hillsides. 5 Canis (Methwolf) Often been prowling in river at dusk. Tracks of dogs seen unless made by these wolves, doubles. 6 V Vinnula a Poly cat seen running on an overhanging branch to river in front of river margin.
