I am surprised that small mammals (Paebyma murulus & spirimp) are so abundant in the rice fields here which a little lower at 6700 east of here there are practically none. The lack gradients between Jum- nan - Jun & Pichising a Tale I attributed to rice culture but it cannot be this as her rice is as extensively grown on the normal swamp. It must be owing to the lower elevation & some climatic difference not well understood yet by us. (7) The weather continued rainy all day, especially violent in the morning like a Dunkster on the Atlantic. The injers remained away owing to the rain. (8) During the night I had the thunder & felt rolled in the morning. A
