"8000 or ?000 feet small fields of buckwheat were seen in flower, with giving a delicate light printest white effect. The country generally has the rolling pinched appearance of the west of S. California & Mexico at 5000 feet alt, in those countries. There is nothing distin gtive in the vegetation that reminds its chine. The culivated valley with rice is the only oriental feature. This rolling country of Yuma is at a general level of 6300 feet with valleys with the ridges 2000 feet higher or 8300ft.
