A large bush forms an irrigation
stream for the fields. When I
was there in September the trees
(lemon, orange etc) were green with
foliage but now they are bare.
A tree is just blooming -- a pink
flamed plum tree but the flower
are longtuticular + not much like the
white plum blossoms of our fruit trees.
The leaves are developed already + quite
cherry-like. This is my first evidence
of Spring.
5 The night was fairly comfortable,
network evident frost. The traps
carried more Padagora minutus +
a large white bellied rat allied to
Epinops, Melbourne camp & travelled
into Talifin. The day was clear +
warm & many travellers were
on the road going north. The rice
fields were brown with stubble,
except those planted to Sophoraceae.
