18 The night was clear
& cool but in the morning
at daylight there was a
drizzle which disappeared
at 7 P. M. when we broke
Camp, The way lead
over rolling hills some
bare, & had more heavy
Pine trees & grass.
The
road side was lined by
a great variety of bushes
some were young ones, then
small medlar pears, then
umbrella
apples resembling
tangerines adorned
by red apples others covered
with red Christam berries
some with blue berries. In
spring this road must
be glorious for primroses.
