6 The night was quite cool at
Kaulianq very different
from the last nights of
Frachour. There are many
houses, clif-built on the
ridge summit. Many are
protected on the NW side by
heavy stone walls from typhoons
which blow here very strong.
Most of the houses are built
below the crest a short way to
protect against
to avoid typhoons. The altitude
here is 2500 feet. Rice fields &
sweet potatoes are common crops
in the village. Tigrers occassionally
drop in the sphere. Teophants
have been shot here, on one occasi-
5 were shot together apparently
a family party; Bananas &
pandtoes common.
