At I set more traps on edge of rice fields & then tried the dogs to the tiger traps. There was again at 10 PM. but it lasted only a few minutes, but the thunder & lightening continued all day night. 24th they cloudy but very calmly, in the tiger traps there was only working. some turned the dogs loose & they returned home. Thereat traps caught only 2 Spiny rats & one shrew in some 6 traps. Everyone went bird hunting but without great success. There are few birds here & these only a few species. Among them are billbills dral loris, chickens, Red billed magpies, & species of long- tailed, owlets & laughing thrushes. The orchid flowers are all white rose a Magolle (Myrica) a pink Flowered Dacifrag & a few Salvias Compositae were just seen in flower. Caldwell says that a Sanitral Lee has been shot near Yupung up the Mani River also Serano, at black.
