6 In the morning we were off Tioman & could see clearly the mountain summits of the island & the great cliffs on the east coast. Weather bright & death calm. A few flying fish seen but no birds. The interior of Tioman is forest inhabited by fierce head hunting Malay tribes of several distinct language groups who do not understand or another, The Japanese are exterminated these people .. 7 Sighted the island of Jezon at daybreak & kept close to the coast all day.
