C. D. Hachman 1967 Species Account Hayson Albatross (Diomedea immutabilis) March 6 Two birds following the ship at a distance of ½ to 1 mile for most of the day. March 7 March 8 Nihoa Island 2 birds flying around ship at daybreak. 1 loafs on island - south side March 10 Necker Island About 600 birds with 150-200 nestings to ½ grown. Those birds were nesting mostly along the ridge but a few were also found on some of the rock shelves down the sides of the cliffs and slopes. No eggs were found. March 11 East Is., FF-Sh chicks - 339, all stages, no eggs March 13 Trig Island, Front Frigate Shoals Adults 7, Chicks 10 March 14 Whale - Sharks, FF-Shoals Nesting Black-footed Albatross - Kure Atoll Feb. 9-10, 1967 (C.S.Robbins) = 218 nests w/ chicks March 26-30, 1967 (C.D.Hachman) = figure in brackets = 187 nests w/ chicks 50(43) 65 (65) 37 (28) 11 (1) 57 (61) 18 (18) - 31 chicks
