C.D. Bachman 1967 Species Account Pomarine Jaeger, March 6 Oahu to Kauai 25 birds seen (only one adult) mostly within 2½ to 3 hours out of Honolulu. One individual followed the ship from 11 am until 3 pm before dropping off and flying in the general direction of Oahu. Harkman, C.D. 1967 Species Account Ring-billed Gull ( Larus ) 13 March Trig Island, French Frigate Shoals 1 bird in 1st winter plunge flying around island several times. Bird flew directly over head. 14 March Wholo-Shake D., French Frigate Shoals 1 bird in 1st winter plunge flew over island several times. Also seen on the beach several times. Shot at + missed. 23 March Pearl + Hermes Reef Arrived back on ship at 2:50 p.m. + stored all gear. At 4:15 Wm. Lane Knittle returned to ship this was a gull, presumably of this species flying around the ship. The shotgun was checked and put away. M. Harper & C.D. Harkman White-tailed Tropicbirds seen by Wm.
