extending over 2 or three lateral folds, of light (176-177) brown, or on some [illegible] dark salmon (178)-[illegible] colorful highest on the animals' side, this exists on the (#179) legs as well. On one individual (of the 8 collected) there are two dorso-lateral stripes of a dark red brown which continue to just behind the eye, on this specimen the upper side of all four legs is the same dark-brown. On another, small salmon spots fuse to form lighter dorso-lateral line (181). These animals are not abundant; the eight [illegible] were caught in about 5 hrs. of actual collecting. I found that the best way to capture them is to strip bark and moss from oak stumps and scrue- tinize the cracks before opening the stump. actual work time 15 - Collected more than 6 hrs today and [illegible] few more animals, slow process. I started working pine stumps more thoroughly today and found most of today's cattle therein. One individual was also found beneath pine bark [illegible] I think this is rare because the bark on a pine stump separates from the wood early, creating too large a gap for the zals. They live in the pulpy wood towards the top of the stump I find. Three (it's 186, 187, 188) found in such stumps have a wholly light back of a medium to reddish brown,
