too. Cut up walrus, wh. was 10 1/2 ft (25
from tip to tip), loaded meat into long-
boat and started for Unnanak about
6:30 p.m. Lovely day and beautiful
calm evening. Reached Tupos
at Unnanak through much young
ice last of way, about 11:10. Found
Ahrquodabluk's wife there. She
and the old man had arrived via
ice cap from Cape York Tuesday
morning. He was now up the
fjord here hunting with Ek, Dr
and Egingwak back. Melville
Bay jammed full of ice and shores
impossible for any kind of boat.
Rasmussen was correct in his
diagnosis from Cape Attu!
Question now is, when can the
ship course? Rasmussen is
hopeful, though getting dubious.
