for Etah, if storm should cease.
I spent day getting ready for Etah by
putting my belongings into shape
for transportation if the ship should
come in my absence.
15 August. Tuesday.
Clear & almost cloudless. Calm.
Temp. N.S.B. 8 a.: 46 1/2°; 12 m. 45 1/2°; 4 p. 42°; 8 p. 40 1/2°
at 11:52 a.m. left on "Inger Lis" for
Etah in company with Rasmussen, Peter,
Comer & Hendrik. Returning, arrived
Thule at 10 a.m. on the 20th. For diary
see "Greenland Journal V" pp. 5-27.
Mr. Rasmussen and his people rested
all that day. Peter, who began to feel
ill at Etah or the day before our arri-
val there, was sick with the grippes.
