chilly day, though we have had no [37] rain or snow yet (7:15p.) The ice really went out of North Star Bay this afternoon, disappear- ing around the Umanak Butte about 5 o'clock. My guess is that Parker Snow Bay has cleared out to-day too under the influence of this wind and the high tides, and that the "Cluett" has sailed also unless the wind has been too strong for her to start. Most of the others, perhaps all of them, think that she got out some days ago. Acting on a suggestion made by Ek, who is cook today, I went over to the other house and brought Rasmussen back to dine with us.
