Temp. 8a. 40°; 12m. 40°; 4h. 45°; 8h. 47° In the morning went over near the igloos with Etc to photograph some "quadrats" (measured square metres) of poppies and buttercups and some other subjects. After lunchon went with Dr. & Ek in the Canoe around the Urnanak Butte. They climbed the Tulus slope to the base of the diabase cliff, hoping to be able to reach a gyr-falcon's nest which is midway of the cliff face; while I paddled about in the canoe waiting for them. They found their quest too difficult wit- out ropes &c and came down. Then we left on around the point. The day was lovely, the
