about 3 p.m. Hendrik Olesen and Tobias (/6
and robs of subtervis
Gabrielsen brought over lumber to begin re-
fining the roof on "our" house. I was
then going through the victrola records, inven-
torying them, and about 4 o'clock the men
knocked off their work(?) and came in
to listen to the music. The Eskimos
like music to a surprising degree.
Ek and Dr. were hunting all afternoon,
they came in shortly after 6 o'clock
without any mjjik or frisse,
though they had killed a small seal
which they were unable to secure
before it sank. Ek went out again
in the evening with Koch, botan-
izing. They came in soon after 8 o'clock
and we had luncheon before Koch
left. He is an interesting young
man and shows good training
and much promise in geology.
