birds at different angles with
reference to the sun. I should
like to confirm or disprove my
observation.
Some more ice has gone out
of Elnah fjord and another sizable
cake is ready to go out, along the
southern shore for a half mile back
from the point the belt of ice is
narrow, being apparently not
more than 100 yards wide for some
distance.

Stormy, disagreeable day, but I took
my usual midday walk, doing 3
miles in the outer bay, wind strong
from southwest out in fjord.
Jot went out after an early breakfast
hunting seals, but he came in before
too cold on account of the increasing
storm. Saw one oog-zook at a distance
but no seals.
Mac put the flag on the house in honor
of the day, and I hung Esthe's Cock-
er Land flag up in my room for
the day.
